Fry, Bender and Leela make up the lovable and weird family of the future -- and they are just as unconventional as Groening's other favorite family, "The Simpsons." With  unique satirical humor and distinctive style, "Futurama"  explores the joys and disappointments of human existence, as well as some problems we don't have to worry about yet -- like what to do when the cell phone implanted in your thumb dials the wrong number.

Fry is a young misguided Everyman whose 20th-century life isn't too thrilling. He failed to meet his ambitions but suddenly gets a second chance when he finds himself a thousand years in the future. Fry discovers, however, he hasn't really escaped anything. Just like in 1999, life is a complex mix of the wonderful and the horrible, where things are still laughable no matter how wild and crazy they get.

Against a backdrop of pesky aliens, exasperating robots and malfunctioning gadgets, people still struggle with the same anxieties of daily life and love. And, of course, traffic is still a bitch.

Working with his new-found friends (Bender and Leela), Fry bucks the system in pursuit of happiness. And with each passing day, the future becomes Fry's home.
